Finch Restorations is Australia’s oldest and most respected vehicle restoration firm. With more than six decades of craftsmanship behind us, we’re now recruiting a Senior Motor Trimmer for our purpose-built Hindmarsh workshop just five minutes from the Adelaide CBD.
This full-time position suits a seasoned professional with 15–25+ years of experience in motor or marine trimming, who thrives on producing high-end results on complex restorations. You’ll work on classic cars, trucks, motorcycles, and custom builds — and have the satisfaction of seeing your interior work as the finishing touch on world-class projects.
The Role
You’ll support the restoration of complete interiors using a mix of traditional and modern materials. You’ll work with classic seat frames, panel boards, carpets, linings, and hand-sewn coverings. You’ll collaborate with other departments — but own your craft with minimal supervision.
What You’ll Do
- Trim, refit, and restore classic vehicle interiors using high-grade materials
- Work from patterns, photos, templates, and vehicle-specific references
- Use industrial sewing machines, adhesives, hand tools, and hardware
- Fit seats, panels, linings, hoods, carpets, and hardware to final detail
- Ensure your workspace and quality standards remain high throughout
What We’re Looking For
- Certificate III in Automotive and Marine Trimming Technology (or equivalent)
- 15–25+ years’ experience in automotive, marine, or aircraft trimming
- A refined eye for detail and a passion for producing premium outcomes
- Capable of working solo or in coordination with restoration project teams
- Experience with classic, vintage, and prestige vehicles highly regarded
Remuneration
Wages for this role range from $40 to $60 per hour, commensurate with skills and experience.
