Finch Restorations is Australia's longest-running vehicle restoration firm, established in 1965. We specialise in full restorations of vintage cars, motorcycles, and trucks from 1890 to 1990 — but our Trim Shop also supports high-quality retrims and select modern repairs.
We are seeking a Motor Trimmer with 0 to 5+ years’ post-apprenticeship experience to join our new Hindmarsh flagship site just five minutes from the Adelaide CBD. You’ll work alongside our Senior Motor Trimmer restoring vehicle interiors that reflect both history and craftsmanship.
The Role
This hands-on role is ideal for someone recently qualified, or looking to take the next step in their trimming career. You’ll contribute to seat builds, pattern making, linings, carpet work, and fittings, while learning from our master trimmer in a clean, organised, and creative Trim Shop environment.
What You’ll Do
- Cut, sew, and fit materials including leather, vinyl, and fabric
- Assist with restoration, retrim, and interior refit of heritage vehicles
- Use industrial machines, hand tools, adhesives, and fasteners
- Support Trim Shop organisation and uphold quality standards
- Participate in team workflow planning and project delivery
What We’re Looking For
- Certificate III in Automotive and Marine Trimming Technology (or near completion)
- 0–5+ years’ trimming experience in a professional or apprenticeship setting
- Strong attention to detail and pride in high-quality workmanship
- Interest in classic vehicles, and the patience and care they require
- Willingness to learn, contribute, and grow in a supportive team
Remuneration
Wages for this role range from $30 to $40 per hour, commensurate with skills and experience.
