Saving Classic Cars & Tackling Automotive Beasts

[ref: parts202411]

With six decades of expertise, Finch Restorations is synonymous with classic car care. We are looking for an experienced Automotive Purchasing Officer who wants to be part of an exciting journey—restoring classic vehicles and keeping automotive history alive. If you're up for the challenge of sourcing rare parts, tackling the logistical puzzles of restoration, and saving classic cars from the brink, we'd love to have you on our team.

We have a team of highly experienced professionals who have a deep understanding of all aspects of the restoration process. Our workshops are equipped with the technologies, tools, and equipment to ensure that projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and authenticity.

Celebrating six decades of excellence, we are excited to expand our team at our new flagship site near Adelaide, dedicated to restoring the glory of classic, prestige, and vintage vehicles for future generations.

Our New Branch

We are establishing a new branch within 10 minutes of the Adelaide CBD. A two-stage process, we are currently establishing our Paint Shop in stage one. Stage two incorporates areas for restorations, repairs, and maintenance.

This role will require being based in our Mount Barker branch for at least the first 6 months, for induction and training purposes, before potential transition to the new branch.

The Role: Parts Coordinator & Procurement Specialist

We need someone who can help us save classic cars by sourcing the rarest of parts, managing the storage of disassembled parts, and ensuring they are kept organised and protected. You will also play a key role in controlling access to parts by maintaining accurate inventory records, all while working with our talented team to ensure everything runs smoothly.

  • Warehouse/Stores Manager with automotive experience
  • Service Advisor
  • Technician with an interest in inventory management
  • Restoration Specialist with strong organisational skills

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Assist with developing and implementing procurement and warehouse systems and procedures, and then manage them.
  • Support our project managers and workshop supervisors by sourcing and procuring often 'unobtanium' components for 1900s to 1980s vehicles, as well as ensuring that all parts are carefully documented, organised, and protected throughout the restoration process.
  • Manage goods inwards, organise the secure storage of parts disassembled from vehicles, and dispatch goods inter-workshop and to sub-contractors.
  • Organise the transport of goods, vehicles, and components.
  • Collaborate with our service team to ensure a smooth workflow, timely delivery of parts and services to the workshops, and proper management of parts inventory, including preventing unauthorised access to components.
  • Manage or support (dependent on your past experience) an e-commerce online parts shop.

About You

Your skills and attributes include:

  • Experience as a Purchasing Officer with an automotive parts and services background.
