Finch Restorations has recently entered a partnership with UK-based Electrogenic. The partnership brings Electrogenic's revolutionary electric vehicle (EV) conversion kits, tailored specifically for classic cars, to Australia's classic automotive enthusiasts.
Our New Branch
We are establishing a new flagship branch within 15 minutes of the Adelaide CBD. A two stage process, we are currently establishing our Paint Shop in stage one. Stage two incorporates areas for restorations, repairs and maintenance, Trim Shop, and concierge vehicle storage.
This role will require being based in our Mount Barker branch for the first 4-6 months, for induction and training purposes, before subsequent transition to the new branch.
The Role: Purchasing Officer
As we venture into a new chapter of growth, we are seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to join our team.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assist with developing and implementing procurement and warehouse systems and procedures, and then manage them.
- Support our project managers and workshop supervisors by sourcing and procuring often 'unobtanium' components for 1900s to 1980s vehicles.
- Manage goods inwards, and despatch goods inter-workshop and to sub-contractors.
- Organise the transport of goods, vehicles, and components.
- Collaborate with our service team to ensure a smooth workflow and timely delivery of parts and services to the workshops.
- Manage or support (dependent on your past experience) an e-commerce online parts shop.
About You
Your skills and attributes include:
- Experience as a Purchasing Officer with an automotive parts and services background.
- Good understanding of ERP, procurement, and warehouse systems and procedures.
- Be accurate, diligent, and systems-focussed.
- Have experience with classic and/or vintage cars, trucks or motorcycles.
- Have experience in running an e-commerce online shop (desirable).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in computer applications and office software.
- Experience as a technician, service advisor, or parts interpreter would be well regarded.
Language
- Professional working proficiency in speaking 'Car' terminology in 1900s to 1990s dialects is a plus.
