For 60 years, Finch Restorations has restored and preserved significant vehicles with pride and precision. We are expanding at our new Hindmarsh site and are seeking a skilled mechanic who values craftsmanship, variety, and sound mechanical judgement.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, workshop-based position at Hindmarsh. Typical duties include:

• Servicing, repairing, and commissioning classic cars, heritage trucks, and motorcycles.
• Diagnosing and overhauling engines, drivelines, braking, and steering systems.
• Stripping, labelling, and storing assemblies as part of restoration projects.
• Fabricating, machining, or adapting parts that are no longer available.
• Working confidently on pre-electronic systems (carburettors, points ignition, mechanical fuel systems, etc.).
• Testing, tuning, and documenting work to a professional standard.

About You

• Trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or equivalent.
• Experience in heritage and classic vehicles in at least one of: cars, heavy diesel, or motorcycles.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills without reliance on scan tools.
• Fabrication or machining skills are highly regarded.
• Australian work rights (citizen, permanent resident, NZ citizen, or valid visa).
