Finch Restorations – Generalist Mechanic (Hindmarsh)
For 60 years, Finch Restorations has restored and preserved significant vehicles with pride and precision. We are expanding at our new Hindmarsh site and are looking for a skilled, hands-on mechanic with experience across classic cars, heavy diesel, and/or motorcycles.

About the Role
This is a hands-on, workshop-based position at Hindmarsh. Typical duties include:
- Servicing, repairing, and commissioning classic cars, heritage trucks, and motorcycles.
- Diagnosing and overhauling engines, drivelines, braking and steering systems.
- Stripping, labelling, and storing assemblies as part of restoration projects.
- Fabricating, machining, or adapting parts that are no longer available.
- Working confidently on pre-computer systems (points, carburettors, mechanical ignition, etc.).
- Testing, tuning, and documenting work to a high standard.
About You
- Trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or equivalent.
- Experience in at least one of: heavy diesel, motorcycles, or heritage vehicles (cars or trucks).
- Competent with non-computerised diagnostics and mechanical fault-finding.
- Fabrication/machining skills (highly regarded).
- Australian work rights (citizen, permanent resident, NZ citizen, or valid visa).
