Deep in the Finch Bunker
(Somewhere Between Hindmarsh and Area 51)
Now based in what the landlord’s family calls “the bunker” at our new Hindmarsh site, Adrian works amid rows of parts, shelves, and storage crates in a room so solid it could pass for the Dwarven city of Moria — or the final warehouse scene from Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. It’s a setting that suits his methodical and quietly adventurous nature perfectly.
Each day, Adrian brings order to chaos — identifying, describing, and recording the thousands of components that flow through Finch Restorations. His meticulous cataloguing ensures that every dismantled part, from the smallest hinge to the rarest badge, remains traceable through the entire restoration process. It’s the kind of behind-the-scenes work that keeps our projects running smoothly and our heritage intact.
Beyond the archives, Adrian and his wife, Kathy, are classic motoring enthusiasts themselves, maintaining a collection of vintage cars that once shared garage space with his LX Torana SS Hatchback — proof that his passion for motoring runs as deep as his love for preservation.
Some say the door to Area 51 might just lead to our archive room. We’re not saying it doesn’t.
