Learning Objective: At the conclusion of this lesson, participants will be able to:
Assess complex projects and analyse their components.
Plan the order of operations to be conducted within a component.
Produce a component utilising bucks to reference shape.
Demonstrate the ability to create bulbous and return shapes through blocking on tree stump and sandbag.
Use wheeling machine to planish and to create transitions.
MS202 - Decorative Metalwork Techniques
Learning Objective: At the conclusion of this lesson, participants will be able to:
Perform basic metal finishing operations.
Use blocking techniques to create decorative shapes, repoussé work
Produce low crown shapes on wheeling machine.
MS203 - Gas Welding, Metal Finishing & Edge Wiring
Learning Objective: At the conclusion of this lesson, participants will be able to:
Perform gas welds on steel.
Identify the differences in gas-welding ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Define the mechanism of heat distortion and how to reverse it.
Demonstrate the process of edge wiring.
Present fundamental knowledge in metal finishing post welding.
MS204 - Swaging, Hammer Drawing, & Headlight Buckets
Learning Objective: At the conclusion of this lesson, participants will be able to:
Use a Pullmax and bead roller to swage components.
Produce swages by using hand-tools.
Recognise and perform the technique of (hammer-) drawing.
Describe the process of annealing in different metals.
