Paint and Panel

Paint and Panel

Finch's award-winning spray-painter and full down-draught spray paint booth can provide you with that special paint scheme, or match existing colourwork. We can look after the most challenging rust repair jobs and accident damage.

Mechanical Repairs and Servicing

Mechanical Repairs

We repair and service all pre-1990s American, Australian, English, and European vehicles and boats. Our specialties include the overhauling and tuning of carburettors, and the manufacture of white metal bearings.

We undertake timber coachwork repairs, rebuilds and new-builds. We manufacture timber car frames, bucks, interior woodwork, and repair and manufacture dashboard veneers.

Finch can manufacture almost any panelwork; whether it is a single panel or a full metal body. We can also ladder and space frame chassis, roll cages and custom exhaust systems.

About us

Finch Restorations was established by Ray Finch in 1965 in Mount Gambier, a logging town located near the South Australian - Victorian border.

In 1983, Ray relocated the business to Echuca in the Adelaide hills of South Australia. In 1992, Ray moved the business to Oborn Road at Mount Barker.

Our team is modest in size, but is high calibre talent, receiving cars from all over Australia, New Zealand through to England. Our cars have been shown as far afield as Pebble Beach in California, winning a Class, through to the Goodwood Revival in the United Kingdom.

We have also authentically recreated some of the most important vehicles the world has witnessed, such as the Jaguar SS100, Jaguar C and D Types, and Ferrari GT250 Testarossa. These vehicles are crafted using only the best and most authentic parts available, if we can not locate the necessary part we will build it from either factory drawings or samples.

The Adelaide hills offer many cottage industries, whereby Finch can source most needs. This concentration of specialist companies offer to our clients the ability to entrust their vehicle to Finch Restorations, from where we can project manage a part or full restoration whatever the type of vehicle. Alternatively, we can recreate the car that the customer has always desired.

If you are a vintage marque, classic saloon or sports car owner looking for fine quality craftsmanship and service from professional people with integrity and experience in this specialised field, Finch Restorations are your first-choice restorer and authentic replica builder.

Please feel free to contact us for a no obligation discussion about restoring or re-manufacturing/replicating virtually any vehicle. We have customers from all states of Australia, and many Finch Restorations' vehicles have been exported overseas to Europe and the USA.

Finch Restorations are award-winning total restoration project specialists. We perform complete body-off, ground-up restorations and re-assembly, metal-shaping and coach-building, meeting the highest levels of quality and authenticity.
